Nuisance

Are you disturbed by loud noise (music, barking dogs, DIY, audible alarms) or are you affected by smoke/odour problems? The new Envirocrime Unit (ECU) will respond to complaints about nuisance as they are reported and usually within 40 to 80 minutes. For routine requests for information the ECU aims to respond to all requests for service within 3 working days.

Other Types of Nuisance

Garden bonfires are the main source of complaint regarding smoke problems. While there is no legislation banning bonfires, smoke from them can constitute a statutory nuisance and possible action. Where possible we would recommend that waste material be taken to a civic amenity site for disposal, or if practicable, composted or recycled.
