Community Involvement - Service Overview

Find out about the Community Involvement Team

Hello, we are a team of officers who focus on helping residents do things in and for their communities. We don't all work in the same district areas as there are not enough of us so we do have to target where we work and on what theme of work.

We have one officer who covers our Rural Areas and three officers who are assigned an estate each - Parkside & Tithe Farm (Houghton Regis) and Downside (Dunstable). Their work title is - Community Development Officer.

A fifth officer, whoes title is Community Involvement Officer, works closely with our Planning Service on getting people involved in where the large scale of housing & business developments will go in the district. This work will be supported by our sixth Community Development Officer (currently a vacant post) who is tasked with making sure that 'growth' consultation and eventual development is inclusive. This post's work theme is 'cohesion'.
