The Growth Area Committee has primary responsibility for scrutinising options and proposals relating to the Luton/Dunstable/Houghton Regis and Leighton Linslade Growth Area and has particular responsibility to:
- review the preparation of the joint Local Development Framework and its associated policies, consultation documents and plans;
- work with and advise SBDC members of the Luton and South Bedfordshire Joint Committee on growth area issues as they affect the District and its residents;
- analyse, evaluate and comment on feedback gathered from residents and interested parties through public engagement processes and invite further evidence as required;
- consider as an integrated whole the complementary housing, transport, employment, education, health, social, recreational and community needs associated with the growth area development.
