Should we produce an Annual report?

Throughout the year South Bedfordshire District Council produces a number of publications to help keep our residents, stakeholders and partners informed.
These range from our magazine InformAction which goes to every household through to the Council Plan which details our plans for the next three years and the previous years performance.

Currently there are number of publications we legally have to publish.  These include:

• Council Plan – This sets our plans for the coming year and also reports back on how we did last year.  Because it’s quite a detailed document we also publish a summary in InformAction which goes to every household.
• Statement of Accounts – This shows how we have used your council tax and government funding to provide local services.  We also publish a Summary of Accounts in a more user friendly format which provides an overview.
• Council Tax Leaflet – Which goes out with the council tax bills and includes a summary of our finances.

We are also considering whether there is a need to also publish a separate Annual Report.  This would bring together aspects of the publications listed above focusing on the year’s performance.  However, we don’t know if there is demand for such a document, and are therefore seeking feedback.  This is to ensure that we use our resources efficiently to meet the needs of our community for this type of information.

To do this we are asking if you could please respond to this very short survey.  It will help us both to identify whether we need to produce an additional publication in the form of an Annual Plan, and if we do, what would you like to see in it.
