General User Survey 2003

As well as a residents' panel, we run a larger survey every three years.  This is sometimes referred to as the General User Survey, the General User Satisfaction Survey or General Best Value Survey.

The 2003 survey went to 8,000 random properties in the district and took place in Autumn 2003. Over 3,200 people responded, with 1,000 also going on to form the residents’ panel.  This survey, based on the guidelines from the government, was designed to measure satisfaction with our services and the local area.

For example for Best Value Performance Indicator (BVPI) 3, the number of people saying that they were staisfied vs. dissatisfied with the council overall  locally was a ratio of 3:1.  You can find out more about our performance management here.

Below you will find a link to the report written by MORI.  This includes the topline results (each question in turn).  The Newsletter which was sent out to those who joined the residents panel is listed separately as the 4th Newsletter 2004, of the residents panel.
