General User Survey 2006

As well as a smaller, regular consultations, we run a larger survey every three years inline with government guidance.  This is sometimes referred to as the General User Survey, the General User Satisfaction Survey or General Best Value Survey.

The 2006 survey went to 3,200 random addresses in the district which were provided by the Audit Commission and took place in Autumn 2006. Over 1,000 people responded, with a small number also choosing to join the new Bed's Voice residents' panel.  This survey, based on the guidelines from the government, was designed to measure satisfaction with our services and the local area.

For example for Best Value Performance Indicator (BVPI) 3, the number of people saying that they were satisfied vs. dissatisfied with the council overall locally was a ratio of 3:1.  You can find out more about our performance management here.

Below you will find a link to the report written by our contractor, SMSR.  This includes the topline results (each question in turn).
