Access Improvements at Dunstable Leisure Centre (16/06/06)

Improvements and rearrangement to the road layout and parking facilities at the front of Dunstable Leisure Centre began this week. The works are being carried out to create improved access, drop off points and disabled parking as part of the Grove Park theatre and commercial development, being built next to the leisure centre on Court Drive.

The work is expected to finish in early August and temporary arrangements for access to the leisure centre have been made while the improvements take place.

Councillor David McVicar, who has Executive responsibility for leisure and culture, said: "The centre managers Leisure Connection are co-operating with the building contractors to minimise disruption and the time taken to complete this essential work. Facilities inside the centre are operating as usual and the team are maintaining a normal service. We appreciate the cooperation and understanding of users of the centre during this necessary and important phase of the project."
