Chairman plays a Round for Charity (04/07/06)

Chairman of the Council, Pat Hamill got into the swing of things on Friday afternoon (30 June) when he played in his first official Charity Golf Day at Tilsworth Golf Club.

The Chairman was joined by fifteen teams of fundraisers from local businesses and organisations who raised nearly 900 for his chosen charities: the NSPCC, the National Phobic Society, DADDS (Dunstable and District Disabled Sports), and the Parksiders.

Councillor Hamill said: "I would like to thank all of the players who took part in the day. The weather was on our side and we had a great afternoon. Thanks also to the council officers and staff at Tilsworth Golf Club for hosting such a successful event. The food and hospitality was superb."

The singles championship was won by Leo Fitzgerald who played in the Chairmans team. Runner up was Judy Ammon of Bobs Pro Am team and third place went to Dave Humpton of the Henlow Boys team.
