South Bedfordshire District Council have received a planning application for a major mixed use, residential development with associated facilities at east Leighton Buzzard.

The application for the Stanbridge Road area and surrounding neighbourhoods include proposals for:
· 4,400 dwellings (including affordable housing).
· Sites for lower, middle and upper schools.
· Neighbourhood/local centres.
· Energy centre and visitor information centre.
· Formal and informal open space.
· Children’s play areas and adventure playground.
· Cemetery.
· Allotments.
· Biomass plant.
· Community Hospital and nursing home.
· Further Education college and skills and enterprise centre.
· Youth activities centre.
· Park and change facility
· Leisure centre.
· Land for Employment use.
