Central Bedfordshire Schools Forum

A Central Bedfordshire Schools Forum is to be set up by September 2008 to consult on the schools budget for 2009/10 and other matters arising from the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) disaggregation of the Schools Grant between the Bedford and Central Bedfordshire Unitary Authorities. 
 
Full details of the membership of the new Central Bedfordshire Schools Forum are included in the constitution agreed at Shadow Executive on 5 August, which is available on our website: www.centralbeds.gov.uk/services/cfls/default.aspx . The Schools Forum is consulted on issues such as, schools funding formula, contracts for supplies and services and other financial matters.
 
The members of the existing Bedfordshire Schools Forum who represent schools within Central Bedfordshire are being invited to stand for the Central Bedfordshire Schools Forum. We are also inviting appropriate non-school bodies to be represented on the Forum and they are being asked to make nominations.
 
Cllr Norman Costin, Portfolio Holder for Children, Young People and Families, has been nominated by the Shadow Executive to serve as a non-voting observer on the forum.
