In 1999 the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire Air Pollution Monitoring Network was created to co-ordinate the monitoring and reporting of air quality across the two counties. It was developed by the Local Authorities and ERG (Kings College London).

The network includes data from 11 realtime analysers and more than 250 diffusion tubes spread throughout the two counties. The site includes daily, weekly and monthly data and reports from both the network and individual local authorities.
