Blue Badge Holders

The Blue Badge Scheme

Your Blue Badge will help you park close to your destination, either as a passenger or driver. However, the badge is only valid for On Street parking. It does not automatically apply to Off Street car Parks, such as local authority or supermarket car parks, or privately owned roads, for example, at airports.  The disabled persons' Blue Badge is recognised throughout the European Union.  It is a criminal offence for you or anyone to misuse your badge, and it can lead to a £1000 fine. Making sure that the scheme is not abused will benefit genuine badge holders, such as yourself.  More information on the Scheme can be obtained from the Department for Transport

The Blue Badge Scheme for residents in South Bedsfordshire is managed by Bedfordshire County Council. If you wish to apply for a Blue badge contact Bedfordshire District Council.
