How can I apply for a Residents Parking Permit and How Much Does a Permit Cost?

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A RESIDENTS PARKING PERMIT?

Eligibility

The following criteria must be satisfied:

You must demonstrate that you live at the eligible address and that the vehicle is yours to drive. You can do this by enclosing the following:
  • A photocopy of your Driving Licence
  • A copy of your Vehicle Registration Document (V5). If the vehicle is registered in the name of another member of your household then you must also supply a letter from the keeper in supprt of your application. If the vehicle is a company ca and you do not have acccess to the registration document then you nmust supply a letterfrom the company stating your name and address confirming that you are authorised to keep the vehicle there.

The above documents must be in your name and show the eligible address. If they are not enclosed with your application then this will cause a delay and you may receive a Penalty Charge Notice. Payment

Permits cost £20 a year per person/per vehicle to cover the cost of administration.

You can apply for an application form by one of the following methods:

  • Email: parking@southbeds.gov.uk
  • Telephone the Parking Services on 0845 849 6264 
  • Write to the Parking Services at South Bedfordshire District Council, District Offices, High Street North, Dunstable, Beds. LU6 1LF

Alternatively, you can download the forms from below and send them, along with payment and proof of residency and vehicle ownership, to the Parking Team.

Please note the following:

  1. Only one permit per person
  2. This is a postal service only
  3. Permits are not availiable to short term visitors, friends or relatives who are  not resident at your address.
