Your Planning Service
The Development Control service deals with planning applications, enforcement issues and appeals, in order to regulate the development and use of land in the public interest. The Manager in charge of the three specialist teams in the Development Control service is David Hale.
- The Major Applications team, led by John Ellis, focuses on large new housing and commercial developments and telecommunications schemes.
- The Fast Track team, led by Alan Robertson, focuses on householder proposals, smaller housing schemes and applications affecting historic buildings.
- The Implementation team focuses on enforcement issues and applications affecting protected trees. Please direct your Tree enquiries to Andy Jones and enforcement enquiries to the Enforcement Team.
The Planning and Transportation Policy Unit researches, monitors and reviews land use policies and guidance. It is responsible for preparing the Local Development Framework for the District and other policy documents, including Development Briefs and Supplementary Planning Guidance. Input is made to regional and national planning issues. Contact the Planning and Transportation Policy Unit.
The Planning Administration service provides a full range of administrative and reception services. It validates new applications and maintains the public register of applications. The Manager in charge of the Planning Administration service is Beverley Austin.
