Submitting a Planning Application
Application forms and guidance notes can be obtained from the planning office or downloaded from the council's website, or applications can be made online via the planning portal.
A schedule of fees can be viewed on the website or telephone/email us if you are unsure of the fee. The planning portal has a fee calculator. The fee can be paid by cheque, or by telephoning 0845 849 6160 to pay by debit/credit card. If using the planning portal you will be given a portal reference number that must be written on the back of the cheque if paying by cheque and quoted for phone payments. Payments can also be made online via the planning portal.
The forms must be completed, signed and dated, along with the certificate of ownership.
The forms and relevant plans and documents (usually five sets - unless submitting online) should be sent to the planning office along with the fee.
Please check our validation checklists before submitting your application to ensure that all relevant information is provided. It is very important to submit the correct information as if the application is not valid, we are unable to start your application process until the problem has been put right. This causes delays and unenecessary extra work and expense to all concerned
