Safer Routes to Schools

Safer Routes to Schools projects are co-operative ventures between local authorities, school staff, students, parents, and local residents aimed at encouraging pupils and their parents who use the car as their primary means of travelling to school to transfer to other, more environmentally friendly means such as walking, cycling and where appropriate, public transport.

Local schools that have ongoing projects include:

• Leighton Middle School, Leighton Buzzard
• Linslade Middle School, Leighton Buzzard
• Mill Vale Middle School, Dunstable
• Parkfields Middle School, Toddington
